Flightcenter Saar GmbH was set up on the site of the commercial airport of Saarbrücken in the spring of 2015. It is the only training center for private pilots at Saarbrücken (SCN) Airport. The Saarland Department of Aviation has granted the flying school the accredited training licence – certificate DE.SL.ATO.002 - consistent with the new, stringent European standards.
Professional flight instructors and airline pilots are available to give instruction seven days a week. The training programmes aim to qualify participants for the Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL), Private Pilot Licence (PPL), Night Flying Qualification (NFQ) or to acquire or renew a single-engine-piston rating. The offer ranges from scenic flights around Saarbrücken, in the Saarland or neighbouring German federal states, to cruising flights to France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands or Belgium, and beyond to the organization of business flights on medium-range jets. It is also possible to charter the Flightcenter Saar aircraft: a four-seater Cessna 172, a modern, two-seater Symphony SA-160 constructed from fibre composite materials – or the classic Piper Cub PA 18 with tailwheel and favourable fuel consumption figures.
The founders of the flying school Lutz Schindler and Dr. Ronald Uden, both experienced aviation professionals, trainers and examiners, have dedicated their competence and personal flying experience of many years to this business enterprise. The state-of-the-art training rooms, equipped with a jumbo flat screen, WLAN and High Speed Internet, are located on the ground floor of the Airport Business Center - Balthasar-Goldstein-Str. 31.
