Before entering the gates, every passenger must pass through the security check. Checks are made to determine whether any unauthorized liquids or dangerous items are being carried.

At Saarbrücken Airport, the Federal Police is responsible for security checks. The federal police use a private security service provider to assist them in carrying out the checks.
