General information

Access to the security area/sensitive part of the security area requires authorization from Flug-Hafen-Saarland GmbH. Flug-Hafen-Saarland GmbH issues airport passes or vehicle vignettes as proof of authorization.

In addition to proof of a legitimate reason, the basic requirements for the issuance of airport passes to persons who wish to enter the sensitive part of the security area unaccompanied are:
  • A valid background check
  • Aviation security training in accordance with 11.2.6. of Regulation (EU) 2015/1998
Persons who do not have a valid security clearance and/or aviation security training in accordance with 11.2.6 of the Annex to the NLSP may only enter the security area/sensitive part of the security area when accompanied by an authorized person.

application process

  1. Fill out the ID card or vignette application in electronic form (interactive PDF form)
  2. Send the application, including the relevant attachments (except for the background check), to the following email address: security@scn-airport.deor to the address:Flug-Hafen-SaarlandGmbH Balthasar-Goldstein-Straße20 66131 Saarbrücken
  3. Send the new application for the background check (original), all supporting documents, and, if applicable, the existing and valid background check (from another federal state in Germany) by mail to the above address or deliver it in person.
  4. Once all the necessary documents have been submitted or the ZÜP has been returned, the Airport Security Department will arrange an appointment with you to issue the ID card or vehicle sticker. The rules of the ID card and airport usage regulations in their current version continue to apply.

Explanations and notes on the application for a background check (ZÜP)

A positive assessment of your reliability by the aviation security authority is a prerequisite for unlimited/unaccompanied access to the security area.

Please note that processing will be delayed if information or evidence is missing.
The form must be completed in full on a computer and sent with all attachments to the following address:

Particular attention is drawn to the completeness of the following items/attachments to be included:

  • List of primary and secondary residences for the last 10 years
  • If you have had any long periods of absence or absenteeism (more than 28 days) within the last 5 years, you must enclose a police clearance certificate/certificate of good conduct from the respective country with a certificate of authenticity.
  • Complete overview of employment relationships, training and further education periods, school attendance and absences over the last 5 years, including supporting documentation, e.g.
    • certificates
    • Health insurance certificate with details of employers or service providers
    • Pay slips, employment contracts
    • Certificate from the Federal Employment Agency
  • Copy of identity card or passport
  • Date and signature of the applicant and company name
