Before entering the gates, every passenger must pass through security. They are checked to ensure that they are not carrying any prohibited liquids or dangerous items.

At Saarbrücken Airport, the Federal Police is responsible for security checks. The Federal Police uses a private security service provider to assist with carrying out the checks.
