Information about flying drones

For the launch of model aircraft/drones and unmanned aerial systems, depending on the launch site, air traffic control clearance must be obtained from the responsible air traffic control center in accordance with §21 LuftVO (German Air Traffic Regulations).

The operation of drones above and within a lateral distance of 1,000 meters from the airport boundary, as well as within a lateral distance of less than 1,000 meters from the airport runway centerlines extended by 5 kilometers in both arrival and departure directions, is generally subject to official approval.
